Oran is a solo of moderate difficulty by Robert Lemay. More classical in nature than many of his other compositions, it is a solo with consistent meter and rhythm throughout. This solo would be highly effective in introducing students to a few modern techniques and contemporary sounds. Extended techniques within Oran include fluttertongue, a few quarter tones, bisbigliando and altissimo. Approximate duration is 12'45".

Oran was commissioned and dedicated to Jean-François Guay.
